Disaster...

Oh no ...

Happy Stitching Sunflower Summer from Shepherd's Bush Designs and the fabric just gave in...

I had made good progress with the stitching that I had started at the retreat last weekend and although it wasn't my usual colours or fabric was starting to think it looks pretty good then this...

There is no repair to this, it's gone in more than one place so it has to be a re-start on a different fabric.  I am so disappointed but at the same time I was not entirely happy with the fabric, it was a little strange and didn't seem to be the same quality I would normally use, it was just a piece from my stash.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and got loads done.

How to be a domestic goddess...

or at least have a go!!!

I am having a little time out this weekend but because I am Coeliac it means I need to think about my food to go...

A two day salad of prawns, cheese and crispy skin salmon with all the trimmings...

Gluten Free Chocolate Orange Cupcakes, one box for retreat...

and two smaller boxes for hubby and work colleagues...

Just because my arm is in plaster doesn't mean I can't do their baking... however, the fracture clinic may not agree with that statement after seeing the amount of swelling and having to split the cast and then bandage.  It's now back in the sling and not doing anything but what it should be - resting!!

A little bit delicate...

Thank you for the good wishes about my arm.

It has come to my attention that there is a problem with the comments on my blog even though I have checked everything and can't seem to find any reason why it is so.  I have checked the settings and I am on blogger and not google so I am not sure what needs to change for everybody to leave their comments.

Please be aware that I am a little delicate at the moment and finding it very frustrating not being able to go at the speed I usually go.  Hopefully the next seven weeks will fly in and I can get back to cooking, baking, stitching and creating.

Take care blogging buds and happy creating :)

Fed up and FNWF ...

Well it wasn't for the lack of trying.

I couldn't stitch, I tried and it just made my hand very painful and swollen.

I am totally fed up - can't do anything, not even cut my own food!!!

Sorry for not being able to join you on Friday, I did try.

It is slow going typing so I will be looking at all the FNWF posts and will comment but it will take a bit of time.  I was hoping because it was the left it would be ok, but I have even had to cancel my RSN class which I am not happy about either.  I seem to take two steps forward and six back.  Hope you all had a good weekend and got plenty done.

Just a little thank you...

Just a short post to say thank you to Radka for helping me sort my blog out.  I have sorted the no reply status - it only took three hours lol but I got there in the end.  I have also edited my profile and now everything seems to be working swimmingly.

Also thank you to all my blogging buddies for all the good wishes coming my way.  I will still be stitching on Friday and know that you all give me a wonderful pick-me-up when not feeling too great from the pain.  See you Friday stitchers :)

I knew exercise wasn't good for you...

We went for a six mile walk with the dogs on Easter Sunday and I managed to fall.

Yes, Borge laughed his head off, couldn't stop in fact.  I got home covered in mud, scratches, bruises and in pain.  Fast forward 24 hours and a swollen hand, hubby took me to A & E and it turned out I had broken my hand, it's a bit of a mess, all colours of the rainbow, they couldn't cast it immediately because of the swelling so it's been done today into a nice navy blue colour, that matches most of what I wear.  It's there for four weeks until a change and then another two weeks.  The hospital staff were brilliant, did everything really quickly as it is pretty painful.  No driving, no lifting, don't get it wet.  Ah well, I knew exercise wasn't good for you ;)

OPAM March 2018

My one project a month was literally that for March unfortunately, just one finish and that was the smocked and embroidered dress.

I have plenty of projects on the go and would like to think that at the end of April there will be quite a long finish list.

I am back at the Royal School of Needlework next week after an eight month health break.  It will be class number 8 - my final one - for the Certificate in Crewel Work (Jacobean Embroidery).  I will need a couple of extra classes I think to get the mounting work done and then it's off for marking.  My paperwork is in order with all my original pencil drawings and designs and all the colour charts.  After that I will start the Certificate in Silk Shading.

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter weekend and got chance to spend time doing what they like most :)
