All Stars!

Quiltessentials at Orton Grange near Carlisle ran a one day workshop to make the All Stars pattern.

We had loads of fun, quilting, meeting like minded girls, plenty of coffee, a far too filling lunch (nothing sweet I might add).

Barbara owns the Quiltessentials shop and runs the courses.  They are always informative, you get plenty done, as well as having a laugh and giggle.  By the end of the day, we think we knew each other pretty well, who buys the most, who chats the most, who works the most but I am not telling on anybody lol :)

Lynn, Gay and Anne

working hard, but still enjoying the chat

I hard a very bad case of fabric envy, Anne used Blueberry Crumb Cake, Gay used Rouenneries, Lynn used Pappillon, Joy used Mill House Inn and I was on Luna Notte.  OOhh - all made by the wonderful Moda, my favourite but I needed to take theirs home with me. :)

Lynn concentrating really hard, I think she must have got loads done.

Joy taking a break and looking good - we know what you were doing - remember for next time girls, chins up, stomachs in lol

Lunch over and back to it.  Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato Soup along with a Brie & Bacon Pannini, salad and coleslaw.  Beautiful lunch, I eat too much and I think that put paid to me doing loads of work in the afternoon,  I think I needed a nap lol ;)

Me pretending to work hard as I had actually finished (not), so much for the chin up and stomachs in idea!!!

The days work, the pattern involves alot of cutting, but once you get sorted you can get it done quite quickly.  It will be random at the end of the day, but I am not putting two of the same next to each other, or that black one near the latte, or ...

Barbara - our host and teacher for the day - showing off the quilt that we are making - it is absolutely beautiful, I love the pattern and the fact that it comes from jelly rolls made by Moda.

Thank you for a great day out girls and a big thank you to Barbara for all your help and teaching and supply of tea and coffee.  See you again on the 7th June girls, remember you need a layer cake because you will have finished what you started yesterday :)
