Smocking

I completed this outfit for my nephew Kaj for his first birthday - it is absolutely beautiful and an easy one to finish.

Ruffled Feathers - I love this dress - it has intricate embroidery on the sleeves and collar and the detailing is unusual as it uses counterchange smocking

Both of these pictures and patterns are courtesy of Australian Smocking & Embroidery - I will post pictures of my versions and the lovely children in them a bit later.

A Toast to the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge

I couldn't have missed the opportunity to toast Prince William and his bride Catherine - congratulations and here's to your new life together.

Had a great day with friends and family - eating, drinking and socialising whilst watching the Best of British :)

Hope you all enjoyed your day. xx

Swaps

I took part in the Tilda Easter Swap run by Cat of catalinaz.blogspot.com.  I always enjoy doing swaps - I like to think I am creative and also generous - as those are who send to me - always.  However on this occasion I have been really let down by the lady I sent my parcel to - having had no blog acknowledgement of the swap so making it look like I didn't send anything so I am having to put this post on my blog to make up for it.  I sent a lovely Handmade Tilda rabbit in a purple dress with trousers and a matching hat along with some fancy teabags, chocolate and bits and pieces.  I really appreciate the hard work that Cat puts into doing the swaps and I received some lovely goodies from her - thank you Cat for all your hard work, patience, communication and loveliness - I look forward to hearing all about your wedding day antics on Skype.

Viking Mork Bergerson

This is the tunic that I have made for Kristian's Viking Re-enactment Group.

I have done the trousers for him a few months ago - he is now waiting to get the decoration or banding that goes around the neck and base of the tunic.

Mum's Autumn Colours Quilt

This is Mum's Autumn Colours Quilt - it matches the colours in one of her pictures in the living room along with the leaf design off the picture as well.

Made with Moda Awesome and Lecien Autumn collection for the binding and backing

The backing made with Lecien cream

Handmade Baby Girl Concertina Album

A friend of mine has recently become a grandmother for the first time and I couldn't resist making her something a little bit special instead of a card.
A concertina album with 16 pages to add photographs to.

I used Basic Grey Two Scoops and Bazzill cardstock

View from the top showing the pockets for the eight pull out pages for photographs and journalling

Cuttlebug embossing folders, prima flowers, KI Memories glitter buttons and epoxy label, embroidery floss and a silver flower along with AMM Baby Girl Vellum stickers

K & Co photo corners

Spellbinders Nestabilities, SU brads, AMM metal accents, Craftwork Cards Confetti

K & Co Epoxy labels and photo corners along with Basic Grey rub-ons and Bazzill adhesive gemstones

AMM Baby Girl Guitar Picks and Stampin' Up ribbon

All inked on the edges with Cat's Eye chalk inks in pink and green

Stampin' Up ribbon, K & Co photo corners and AMM heart ribbon charm

Prima flowers along with KI Memories metal accents and Basic Grey stickers

The back of the album says it all I think :)

This is the eight cardstock inserts for the pockets which are decorated with ribbon, Tim Holtz tiny attacher and Basic Grey white rub-ons and Two Scoops rub-ons.  They also have matching cardstock on the back of them and can hold two photographs or one photograph on one side and journalling on the other.

I took the present today and the lady was absolutely delighted with it and couldn't wait to show it off. :) xxx
